Since 1990, I have spent a considerable amount of time in Argentina, living, working and playing polo at Estancias on the Pampasand in the capital Buenos Aires.

During this time I became partial to the drink Yerba, which the Gauchos and polo grooms drink on a daily basis in the same way as the English drink tea or coffee. I was fascinated by the social side of drinking of the yerba, as well as by the physical benefits it provides.

I decided to introduce the beverage to others and established Yerba Maté Ltd in October 1998 to supply both the UK and Ireland with Yerba Maté.
